Most dirt on your deck's surface can easily be washed away with a hose or brushed off with a broom. If the deck still appears to be dirty a mild soap and water mixture, along with some sort of scrub brush will do the job nicely. For the soap mixture you want to use any mild household laundry detergent. If you chose you may also have your deck professionally pressure washed to remove dirt and build up.

Products that promote grease cutting should never be used on the deck surface; these include most household liquid dish soaps. Never use products like “Pinesol ®”, or “Simple Green ®”.

We recommend that the deck be thoroughly cleaned at least once a year. Spring is usually the best time for a thorough cleaning. Cleaning in the spring gives you a chance to remove any moss, or build up that has occurred over the damp fall and winter months.
